Ramp signalling

Traffic lights at motorway on-ramps are used to control the rate at which vehicles merge on motorways. The lights operate during peak periods or when an accident or incident occurs.

Driver tip: Flashing traffic signs at the approach of an on-ramp warns drivers that ramp signal traffic lights are in operation and to prepare to stop.
